Chester Kenton, commonly known as C. Kenton, was an American film director who had a prolific career in the 1930s and 1940s. He started his career as a director in 1926 with the silent film Cactus Trails. He primarily directed low budget B-movies and westerns, and some of his notable films include The Ghost Walks (1934), The Cat and the Canary (1939), and The Great Dan Patch (1949).
Kenton was known for his skillful use of lighting and camera techniques, and his ability to create suspense in horror and thriller films. He also collaborated with famous actors and actresses of his time, such as Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, and Basil Rathbone.
In addition to his work as a director, Kenton was also a screenwriter and had several writing credits to his name. He retired from the film industry in the early 1950s and passed away in 1972.
